Visit the the medieval village of Noyers with its many quaint and beautiful buildings, the Renaissance Chateau at Ancy le Franc - one of Serlio's masterpieces, the famous Italian architect of King Francois I, this renaissance style palace was constructed between 1544 and 1550. Built in park-like grounds for Antoine III de Clermont, it contains a remarkable series of wall paintings. The chateau is open from April to November.
Walk or cycle for miles along the Burgundy Canal and feel the peace and quiet.

Easy access via the A6 Highway, by the exits for Auxerre Sud or Nitry, halfway between Paris and Lyon.

Directions to La Poterne
Head towards Tonnerre, the nearest main town. At Tonnerre take D905 to Lezinnes/Ancy Le Franc. On reaching Ancy Le Franc follow main road through the town and follow sign D17 to Stigny. After about 5 minutes watch out for traffic coming in from your right from Chassignelles as it has priority. On reaching Stigny take a sharp left and then a right, head straight on past Lavoir and Mairie on your right. 8 Rue de la Poterne (house with blue shutters) is just next door to the Mairie. The gite cannot be seen from the road.
